The annual Creative Edinburgh Awards are an integral part of the creative scene in Edinburgh, recognising and celebrating the best of Edinburgh's creative talent over the past year. Normally held in-person, COVID meant that Creative Edinburgh needed to find a solution to presenting the Awards despite restrictions.
For two consecutive years, I helped to pivot the Awards so that they were more engaging in and online format; we decided to create a collage-inspired motion graphic film that would feature phone-filmed interviews from all of the nominees along with examples of their projects. This was an intricate task involving collating of submitted files and creating many motion designs to show the projects in full.
We knew it was important to support the visual identity of the year's awards, so we worked with each year's illustrators to use designed backdrops and transitions for the film.
Both years, we also shot  content with Creative Edinburgh to bookend the film, as well as two feature spots for the event sponsors, Sweetdram and Fruitmarket Gallery.
